Jan. 27, 2003

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington women's swimmer Maggie Moss (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference has announced. This is Moss' third such citation having won the award on December 9 and November 18. Moss becomes the league's first three-time winner of the season.

Moss earned the award after winning three events on January 25 in George Washington's 145.5-132.5 victory over Massachusetts. Moss began the meet by winning the 100-yd backstroke with a time of 58.21. She then won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.00. Moss also took first in the 200-yd individual medley with a time of 2:10.84.

Moss, who as a freshman has helped lead the Colonials team to a 4-4 record, will compete next against Richmond at Smith Center on Wednesday, January 27 at 4:00 pm.
