Men's and Women's Swimming Competes At Catholic University

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the first day of a two-day meet Friday, against host Catholic University and American University, with three Colonials, overall, recording first place finishes.

Sophomore Jeffrey Glazer (Dix Hills, NY/Commack) won the 500-yard freestyle (4:53:42) with teammate Jeffrey Cohn (New Orleans, LA/Isadore Newman), a junior, finishing second (4:55:61) in the event.

Glazer also placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.33 seconds.

Senior Maggie Moss (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) placed first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.94), while freshman Laura Myers (Cedarburg, WI/Divine Savior Holy Angels) took first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.38 seconds).

Day two of the meet is set for Saturday. The diving portion, scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM, will be held in GW's Charles E. Smith Athletic Center Pool.

The swimming portion, scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM, will held in AU's Reeves Aquatic Center.
