GW Diver Selected As A-10 Performer of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington University diver Katura Horton-Perinchief (Sandys, Bermuda / Richview Collegiate Institute (Toronto, ONT) was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week Monday for her performance in the Colonials' dual home meet against East Carolina University on Saturday.

In the meet, Horton-Perinchief won the one and three-meter diving events with scores of 255.90 and 297.83, respectively. Both scores currently stand as the highest totals in the Conference this season.

Horton-Perinchief arrived at George Washington this year from the University of Texas where she earned All-Big 12 Conference honors in diving.

A native of Bermuda, Horton-Perinchief represented her country in this summer's Olympics in Athens, Greece. She also dove for Bermuda last summer at the 2003 World Championships and at the Pan American Games.

The GW men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to action this weekend as they travel to Fairfax, VA to compete in the George Mason Invitational.
