WASHINGTON, DC (Nov. 19) - George Washington junior swimmer David Dillehay (Gallatin, TN/Gallatin) has been named the Atlantic 10 Men's Performer of the Week, the Conference office announced this afternoon. It is the first Atlantic 10 honor for Dillehay this season.
Dillehay finished second in the 500-yd freestyle with a time of 4:37.02 at the Patriot Invitational on Nov. 16. Dillehay's time was the second fastest in the meet's history. Warren Lockie of UNC-Wilmington swam a 4:36.83 to narrowly defeat Dillehay in the finals. Dillehay also finished sixth in the 200-yd butterfly with a time of 1:58.76 and helped GW finish strong in two relay events. Dillehay helped the Colonials to a third place finish in the 800-yd freestyle relay with a time of 7:02.52 and a sixth place finish in the 400-yd freestyle relay with a time of 3:13.46.
Dillehay and the Colonials will return to the pool on Saturday, Dec. 1, when they compete against Old Dominion University at Smith Center.
