Men's Water Polo Opens Season with Victory
Colonials drop Navy to start 2017
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Behind six goals from Andras Levai in his collegiate debut, George Washington men's water polo dropped Navy, 15-11, in its season opener on Saturday morning at Lejeune Hall.
The 18th-ranked Colonials (1-0) took the lead for good in a tight game at the Navy Open on a score by Levai with 5 minutes, 5 seconds left in the third quarter and pulled away from Navy (0-1) in the final period. The freshman from Hungary led the offense down the stretch, posting three goals in the third quarter and two in the fourth.
GW closes play at the Navy Open on Sunday, facing Washington & Jefferson at 1:30 p.m. and Salem International at 3:30 p.m.
