GW Men's Water Polo Edged by Harvard, 15-13

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Tied after three quarters, the George Washington men's water polo team was outscored by Harvard, 5-3, in the final eight minutes and dropped a 15-13 decision to the host Crimson to finish in sixth place at the CWPA North/South Invitational.
The teams were tied, 2-2, after one quarter, and the score remained deadlocked at 6-6 at halftime. Each team scored four goals in the third period before Harvard pulled away in the fourth.
Junior Daniel Tyner and sophomore Ridvan Pehlivan each tallied three goals to lead the Colonials' offense, while graduate student Milos Purkovic and freshman Bogdan Petkovic each scored twice. Senior goalkeeper Cameron Illes recorded eight saves.
The Colonials return to action on Wednesday, when they open Southern Division play at Johns Hopkins at 7:30 p.m.
