Men's Water Polo Defeats Bucknell, 10-7

Sept. 21, 2003

ANNAPOLIS, MD - George Washington men's water polo beat the Bucknell Bison for the first time since the 1999 season, and recorded their first Collegiate Water Polo Association win with the 10-7 victory.

GW (3-4, 1-1)used a balanced attack that included three different players scoring two goals. Seniors Patrick Dodge, Srdan Radnic and freshman Anthony Guadagni all got on the board twice in a match that head coach Scott Reed termed a 'team effort'.

The Colonials and Bison battled back-and-forth through the first two periods, as GW would hold a slim 7-6 lead after the half. BU would tie the match 7-7 in the third quarter, but the Colonials would shutdown the Bison in the last period while scoring three times to claim the 10-7 victory. The win was GW's first over BU since the 1999 season.

The Colonials travel to Providence, RI from September 26-28, to compete in the ECAC Championship. GW's first match versus Queens College is on Friday, September 26, at 8:00 p.m.
