LEWISBURG, PA - Senior John-Claude Wright led the attack with three goals, but the shorthanded George Washington men's water polo team dropped its CWPA Southern Division opener at Bucknell, 14-7, Saturday afternoon.
Playing without three regulars, including second-leading scorer sophomore Cray Rogers, the Colonials fell behind by four goals early and trailed the entire game.
Wright entered the week ranked third in the nation with 30 goals.
GW (4-11, 0-1 CWPA Southern Division) travels to Princeton, NJ, Sunday to face Southern Division foe Princeton at 10:45 am and Queens (NY) at 3:00 pm. The Colonials were originally scheduled to face Iona in Sunday's finale, but a Gaels' scheduling error forced a late change to the Knights.
