Men's Water Polo Falls to Johns Hopkins, 15-10

Oct. 2, 2003

BALTIMORE, MD - Just four days after defeating Johns Hopkins at the ECAC Championships, the George Washington University men's water polo team headed to Baltimore, MD on Wednesday, October 1 only to fall to the Blue Jays 15-10. Junior Nicholas Koenemann (St. Louis, MO/Massachusetts) paced the Colonials with five goals, but it wasn't enough to hold off a strong Johns Hopkins squad.

Johns Hopkins jumped out to a commanding 7-0 lead and the teams traded goals throughout the rest of the match. GW fought to come back, scoring the last three goals of the match, but it proved to be too little, too late.

The Colonials picked up two goals apiece from senior Pat Dodge (Ballwin, MO/Parkway South) and junior Srdan Radnic (Zagreb, Croatia/Parkway South) and a single tally from senior Gur Doitel (Woodside, CA/Saratoga).

The Colonials will hit the pool again at the Inter-Regional Competition in Princeton, NJ from Friday, October 17 to Sunday, October 19.
