ANNAPOLIS, MD - The George Washington men's water polo team dropped a pair of games at Navy Sunday, falling 14-5 in a non-conference battle with No. 15 Air Force and 11-3 to the host Midshipmen in a CWPA Southern Division contest.
GW struggled in the first half in both outings, falling behind the Falcons 8-1 after two quarters and the Midshipmen 6-1 at halftime to fall to 7-19 overall and 0-6 in CWPA Southern Division play.
Sophomore Cray Rogers scored a hat trick to lead GW against Air Force, followed by a goal apiece from senior Rick Rogers and freshman Guy Helman. Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Sotolongo played all four quarters and made nine saves.
Cray Rogers again led the offense with two goals against Navy, with Helman adding the final tally. Freshman Cameron Illes totaled nine stops against the Mids. The Colonials failed to convert any of their seven man-up opportunities.
The Colonials host their final two regular season games, beginning with league foe Johns Hopkins Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 7:00 pm.
