GW Men's Water Polo Downed by Navy, 14-7

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The George Washington men's water polo team dropped a 14-7 decision at Navy on Sunday morning at Scott Natatorium.

Sophomore Pierce Deamer scored a team-high four goals and added two ejections drawn, a steal and a field block, while freshman Brett Else recorded four steals and drew two ejections. Sophomore Quentin Montgomery had a team-high three ejections drawn to go with a goal and a steal.

Senior goalkeeper Connor Dillon made 10 saves and added three steals before giving way to freshman Matt Taylor, who stopped one shot while registering a pair of steals.

Navy took a 3-2 lead after one quarter and extended its advantage to 6-3 at halftime. A 5-1 third period for the Midshipmen made it 11-4. GW tallied three of the final four goals of the game as part of an even fourth frame to account for the 14-7 final score.

The Colonials return to action on Saturday, when they head to the Bronx, N.Y., to take on Fordham and Iona.
