GW Men's Water Polo Drops 12-7 Decision to No. 14 Navy in Regular-Season Finale

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The George Washington men's water polo team was within two goals of No. 14 Navy in the fourth quarter, but the host Midshipmen scored the final three goals of the contest to deal the Colonials a 12-7 loss in their regular-season finale. GW (10-14, 1-7 Southern) will learn its seeding on Monday for next weekend's CWPA Southern Division Championship at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. The score remained close in the first half, as Navy led, 3-1, after one period and just 4-3 at halftime. However, the Midshipmen (20-2, 6-1 Southern) outscored GW, 4-2, in both the third and fourth quarters to win the game, 12-7. Sophomore Ridvan Pehlivan paced the Colonials' offense with three goals, while freshman Bogdan Petkovic recorded a goal, seven steals and two field blocks.
