WASHINGTON, DC - Five members of the George Washington University men's water polo team were named to the American Water Polo Coaches Association (AWPCA) All-Academic Teams for their outstanding work in the classroom, the organization announced today. The Colonials, with a 3.13 team grade-point average, were one of 22 teams nationwide recognized for the AWPCA Team Honor.
All-Academic honors were awarded based on three levels: Excellent (3.20-3.40), Superior (3.41-3.70), and Outstanding (3.71-4.0).
Junior Srdan Randic (Zagreb, Croatia/Parkway South, MO), a biology major with a 3.95 GPA, was named to the AWPCA All-Academic Outstanding Team.
Sophomore Jonathan Lo (Hong Kong, China/Phillips Andover), an international affairs major with a 3.44 GPA, was named to the AWPCA All-Academic Superior Team.
Seniors Jason Grimes (Litchfield, CT/Phillips Exeter), a physics major (3.33 GPA) and Gur Doitel (Woodside, CA/Saratoga), a computer science major (3.31 GPA) along with sophomore Anthony Guadagni (Visalia, CA/Mt. Whitney), a history major (3.33 GPA) all earned spots on the AWPCA All-Academic Excellent Team.
