Three GW Men's Water Polo Players Earn Academic Accolades

Senior Brian Mojica was recognized by the ACWPC and CWPA with excellent status for the second year in a row.

WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's water polo team placed three athletes on the 2014 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Men's Varsity Scholar-Athlete Team and two on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Team, the organizations announced.

Senior Brian Mojica was honored with excellent status for the second year in a row for a grade-point average between 3.20 and 3.40. Sophomore Sander Profaci garnered superior status distinction for a GPA between 3.41 and 3.70 for the second consecutive season from the CWPA and for the first time from the ACWPC. In addition, freshman Noah McKinnie Braun was recognized by the CWPA, garnering outstanding status for his GPA between 3.71 and 4.0.

The ACWPC All-Academic Team and CWPA Scholar-Athlete Team honor varsity student-athletes who possess a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher, and the ACWPC requires the athletes to have competed in at least half of their team's games during the 2014 season. The ACWPC recognized 206 student-athletes across the nation, while the CWPA honored 111 from its member schools.
