Men's Water Polo Announces 2005 Schedule

WASHINGTON, DC - Four home matches versus CWPA Southern Division foes highlight the 2005 GW men's water polo schedule that was released on Monday, May 16. During the month of October the Colonials will take on league rivals Navy (Oct. 4), Bucknell (Oct. 16), Johns Hopkins (Oct. 19), and defending Southern Division champion Princeton (Oct. 16) at the Charles E. Smith Athletics Center.

In addition to the four dual matches, GW will compete in three invitational tournaments. The Colonials will begin the 2005 campaign at the Navy Open on Sept. 3-4. They will also travel to Lewisburg, PA to participate in the Bucknell Invitational (Sept. 10-11) and Claremont, CA for the 2005 Claremont Convergence (Oct. 7-8).

The Buff and Blue will square off against Princeton and Salem International in Salem, WV on Oct. 17 and Bucknell and Salem International in Princeton, NJ on Oct. 1. The Colonials will also play a road contest at Johns Hopkins on Sept. 28.

The 2005 CWPA Southern Championship is slated for Oct. 28-30 in Annapolis, MD.

The Colonials were 9-19 last season and placed seventh at the Southern Championship. Nick Eddy is the team's top returning scorer. He tallied 34 goals in 2004.
