Colonials Seeded 11th for Southern Championship

Oct. 25, 2004

BRIDGEPORT, PA - GW will be the 11th seed when the CWPA Southern Championship gets underway on Friday, Oct. 29 in Princeton, NJ. The pairings for the event were announced earlier this afternoon.

The Colonials will take on Gannon, the tournament's second seed on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 10:50 a.m. in their opening match. Gannon won the Western Region, but is seeded second in the championship because the seeds alternate East/West. GW will meet seventh-seeded Salem International at 3:30 p.m. in Saturday's afternoon session.

The Colonials are riding a three-game winning streak that includes victories over both Gannon and Salem.

The Colonials lost in the second round of the 2003 CWPA Southern Championship to Slippery Rock, 7-6, in sudden-death overtime.

GW is 7-17 overall this season.
