GW Men's Water Polo Concludes Regular Season on Saturday at Navy
Colonials Visit Midshipmen for Matinee Rematch

WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's water polo team wraps up the regular season on Saturday at Southern Division rival Navy. Game time is set for 1 p.m.GW (9-10, 1-6 Southern) and Navy (11-10, 2-4 Southern) met last Saturday evening at the Charles E. Smith Center, a 19-15 victory for the visiting Midshipmen. Senior Ridvan Pehlivan and junior Bogdan Petkovic led the Colonials with five goals and seven points apiece. The duo has each scored 12 goals in their careers against Navy. Will Weggeland scored seven goals to lead the Mids. Pehlivan paces the Colonials' offense with 49 goals this season, while Petkovic and senior Brian Mojica have scored 37 apiece. Petkovic has also dished out a team-best 35 assists for 72 points on the year, and he also leads GW with 54 steals and 14 field blocks. Freshman Pierce Deamer is tops on the team with 39 ejections drawn to go with his 33 goals, as the quartet has combined to score 66 percent of the Colonials' 236 goals on the year.Junior Connor Dillon and sophomore Sander Profaci have split time in the cage this season, combining to post a 10.67 goals-against average and a .493 save percentage.Navy has dropped three of its last 13 games after winning its first eight games of the season. Thomas Patterson leads the Midshipmen with 44 goals and 57 points, while Weggeland and Carpenter Warren have scored 31 goals apiece. Patterson also owns a team-high 17 steals. Garrett Sabesky has played the majority of the goalkeeping minutes and boasts a .448 save percentage.Following Saturday's regular-season finale, GW will compete in the CWPA Southern Division Championship in Princeton, New Jersey, Nov. 7-9.
