Deb Cane is in her third year as the head coach for the George Washington University men's and women's cross country teams where she oversees all aspects of the program.
Cane served as the assistant coach during the 1998 season where her responsibilities included training, scheduling, recruiting and making travel arrangements. Prior to becoming a full-time assistant coach at GW, Cane was a volunteer assistant for the GW cross country team, as well as GW's track and field club team from 1997-1998.
A 1997 Kalamazoo College graduate, Cane was captain of both the cross country and track and field teams. A scholar athlete, Cane was a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Academic All-Conference member and on the Athletic Honor Roll. Cane also received the Varsity Captain Award for leadership.
Cane graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology and philsophy/religion and is currently pursuing a master's degree in clinical physiology at GW. Cane resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband, Dan.
