Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth, Men Fifth at the Maryland Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The George Washington University's women's cross country team finished fourth and the men finished fifth at the Maryland Invitational on Saturday, October 11. Junior Trina Bolton (Avondale Estates, GA/The Lovett School) led the women's team with a ninth place finish, while senior Dave Azari (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) paced the men with an eleventh place finish. Bolton ran her second solid race in a row finishing the 5K course in 19:01.55. Freshman Bridget Skeuse (Stockton, NJ/Immaculata) finished directly behind Bolton in tenth place. Senior Emily Jadwin (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) was next for the Colonials followed by juniors Erin Patton (Saline, MI/Saline)and Mary Beth McCullough (Brentwood, TN/Father Ryan). Azari was the first Colonials finisher for the fourth time this season, completing the 8K course in 25:27.43. Senior Darrell Andruski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) finished four places behind Azari in fifteenth place. Freshmen Daniel Morgan (Danville, KY/Boyle County), Ryan Shaver (Coatesville, PA/Coatesville) and Ian Hajek (San Diego, CA/(Home Schooled)) rounded out the scoring for the Colonials. GW will return to the racecourse at the Penn State National in State College, PA on Saturday, October 18.
