Men's Cross Country Finishes 10th, Women 16th at the Penn State National
Oct. 19, 2003 STATE COLLEGE, PA - The George Washington University's cross country team participated in the Penn State National on Saturday, October 18 with the men's team finishing 10th and the women's team finishing 16th. Senior Darrell Andruski (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) finished first for the men in 29th place and freshman Bridget Skeuse (Stockton, NJ/Immaculata) crossed the finish line first for the women. Andruski finished in the Colonials' top spot for the first time this season after being a mainstay there for much of last fall. He completed the 5.2 mile run in 26:52.82 followed closely by senior Dave Azari (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury), last week's Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week. Freshman Daniel Morgan (Danville, KY/Boyle County) was next for the men with freshman Ian Hajek (San Diego, CA/(Home Schooled)) and sophomore Phil Sherman (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) rounding out the scoring. Skeuse led the Colonials finishing the 6K race in 22:58.33. Senior Emily Jadwin (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) finished second for GW followed by junior Trina Bolton (Avondale Estates, GA/The Lovett School). Junior Erin Patton (Saline, MI/Saline) and sophomore Meghan Dunn (Clinton, NY/Clinton) finished off the scoring for GW. The Colonials will spend the next two weeks preparing for the Atlantic 10 Championships in Philadelphia, PA on Saturday, November 1.
