ARLINGTON, Va. - The George Washington baseball team picked up its second win in as many days with an 8-3 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday afternoon at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park. It marks the Colonials' second straight win to open the current homestand as well as the third win in the last four games.

Key Stats

  • GW posted season-high totals in hits (13), total bases (17) and stolen bases (6).
  • Sophomore Nate Fassnacht had a big day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored.
  • Senior Mark Osis also turned in a three-hit day for the third time this season. He finished 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
  • GW ran all over the Hawks with six stolen bases, including three by senior Isaiah Pasteur, who finished the day 2-for-5 at the plate with a run in addition to his trio of pilfered sacks.
  • Sophomore Steven Barmakian also swiped a pair of bags in addition to a pair of hits, one run and one walk.
  • Sophomore Jaret Edwards picked up his first win of the season by pitching four strong innings of relief. He yielded only an unearned run while allowing two hits with no walks and one strikeout.
  • Freshman Harrison Cohen was lights out to close out the game. He fired 2.1 innings of scoreless relief, only allowed one hit and punched out a pair.

  • Bottom 1: Consecutive bunt singles by Pasteur and Barmakian followed by a sacrifice bunt put two runners in scoring position for Robbie Metz, who drove in a run on a fielder's choice. (GW 1, MDES 1)
