George Washington Falls to The Mount, 6-2
Colonials aim to rebound this weekend against Central Connecticut State
March 12, 2009
EMMITTSBURG, MD - The George Washington University baseball team hit the road for only the second time in March and couldn't figure out the Mount in a 6-2 loss in Emmittsburg, MD. Bobby Lucas was the starter for the Colonials and gave up six earned runs in five innings and junior Tom Zebroski was the lone source of offense with his fourth home run of the season.
The Colonials took an early 1-0 lead on Zebroski's round-tripper but quickly fell behind when they allowed five runs in the Mountaineers' big second inning. The only other Colonials to record hits were designated hitter Sean Rockey and catcher Ryan Thomas.
George Washington (6-9) returns home to Barcroft Park this weekend as they welcome the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils (3-1) for a three-game series at Barcroft Park, located at 4200 South Four Mile Run Drive in Arlington, VA. Friday's game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m, while the Saturday and Sunday games are both scheduled for noon starts.
