Colonials will return to Barcroft tomorrow at 1 PM to take on La Salle
April 17, 2009
ARLINGTON, VA - The George Washington University baseball team snapped their six-game winning streak on Friday afternoon at Barcroft Park with an 11-2 victory over the La Salle Explorers. An eight-run second inning gave the Colonials plenty of runs to even their record to 6-6 in A-10 conference play.
Sophomore Eric Cantrell gave the Colonials eight strong innings, allowing just two earned runs and striking out eight.
The big inning was keyed by a two-RBI single by junior Chris Holland and another single by senior Tim Reeves that plated two more runs. Three Colonials had multi-hit games and senior Andrew Haberern hit his fourth home run of the season in the blowout victory.
The Colonials will face the same Explorers squad at 1:00 p.m. at Barcroft Park. George Washington has not named a starting pitcher for the contest.
