In the first game, the Colonials scored four runs in the top of the first, the first two on a two-RBI double to right field by senior Mike Bassett (Paramus, NJ/ Paramus). The Colonials increased the lead even more in the top of the fifth with three runs, two of them unearned. With the score 9-1, La Salle managed to score two more unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh for the final 9-3 margin. Junior righthander Greg Conden (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) earned his eighth win of the season after he pitched six innings and allowed one run on three hits.
GW scored four quick runs in the top of the first of the second game of the day. Senior tri-captain Matt Krimmel (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland) singled to center field to score Wald. Krimmel then made it home when Bassett slammed his eleventh homer of the season to left field. Freshman Anthony Raglani (Indiana, PA/Indiana) followed three batters later with an RBI single to center. The Colonials added four more in the top of the second for an 8-0 lead. Senior Tony Brown (Hockessin, DE/A.I.DuPont) and Wald scored on a single to center field by Bassett. Barry then hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Krimmel.
