WILLIAMSBURG, VA- Senior Brendon Kelliher hit his 10th home run of the season and sophomore Ryan Heinz tossed four and one-third innings of scoreless relief to lead the George Washington baseball team to a 4-3 win over William & Mary on Wednesday afternoon at Plumeri Park.

GW (11-30) snapped their seven-game losing streak with the victory and earned a series-split with the Tribe after losing 9-4 on March 16 in Arlington.

Kelliher launched his team-leading 10th home run of the season in the third inning after consecutive singles by Kyle Gelling and Robbie Haben. A double steal moved them into scoring position and Kelliher followed by launching a 1-2 pitch over the left field fence. Kelliher is now second in the Atlantic 10 with 10 home runs on the season, behind Xavier's Ben Thomas (12).

William & Mary responded with three runs in bottom of the fifth off of Colonial starter Kenny O'Brien. O'Brien pitched well, allowing three earned runs with two strikeouts. He ran into trouble in the seventh after the Tribe used consecutive RBI doubles and a RBI single.

Heinz entered with two outs and the game tied 3-3 and shut down the Tribe lineup over the following four innings, surrendering just two hits with three strikeouts to earn his second career win.

The Colonials got the winning run in the top of the sixth in a sequence started by Kelliher. He led off with a single up the middle, advanced to second on a ground out and to third on a passed ball. Junior Stephen Oswald then added a sacrifice fly to give GW a 4-3 lead.
