WILLIAMSBURG, VA - The George Washington University baseball team lost 7-6, when the William & Mary Tribe scored two ninth inning runs on a two-run home run by Rob Nickle. Redshirt junior Sean Rockey led the offense with three hits and Justin Dignelli got his third start of the season and allowed four earned runs in 3 2/3 innings pitched.

Juniors Will Cooper and Chris Holland each collected two hits as well for the Colonials, who led through the contest until the ninth inning. The Colonials scored two runs in the second and third innings to build a 4-1 lead after three. Despite three Tribe runs in the fourth inning, the Colonials still held a 6-5 after eight innings.

William & Mary (20-22, 7-11 CAA) was led by Nickle, who went 2-3 with a pair of walks and three RBIs. Tyler Stampone also went 2-3 with two walks for William & Mary.

George Washington (19-26, 8-9 A-10) will now turn its attention to A-10 Conference play when they host Saint Louis to Barcroft Park for an important three-game series. The Friday game is set to start at 4:00 p.m., while the Saturday and Sunday contests start at 1:00 p.m and 12:00 p.m. respectively.
