WASHINGTON, DC - GW baseball's scheduled opening day against Norfolk State has been cancelled due to inclement weather in Norfolk, VA. The Colonials' first game will now come against No. 19 Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, FL with the three-game series starting on Friday, February 20 at 7:00pm. This year's home games and several away games can be followed live through Gametracker available at GWsports.com.

The Colonials may still reschedule their away game against Norfolk State but no date has been set at this time. GW has schedule 61 games this year leaving room for several cancellations due to weather. Division I baseball teams can play 56 regular season games leaving the Colonials with four more games of flexibility in their schedule.

In 2003, the Colonials were not able to play their first game at home until March 9 due to the wettest year in the Mid-Atlantic region in recorded history. GW hopes for a warmer and drier climate this season, especially since the team will host 19 home games in March alone. The Colonials home opener is scheduled against Georgetown on Tuesday, February 24th at 2:30 at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA.
