Quick Notes
BOCA RATON, FL - The George Washington Colonials will open their season in Florida for the second-straight season when they start a three-game series against No. 16 Florida Atlantic on Friday in Boca Raton. Last year's club earned an opening day victory with No. 18 Stetson in an 11-inning battle. The two teams have met only once previously when FAU defeated GW, 9-1, in 1984.
Like last year, the Colonials were charted to play locally against Norfolk State to start the season but the game was cancelled again this year due to cold and rainy mid-Atlantic temperatures. In 2003 GW went 2-1 to start the season en route to a 15-4 start, the team's best since going 19-4 in 1957.
