Quick Notes
SAN ANTONIO, TX - The George Washington Colonials will look to recover from a slow start after losing their first four road games of the year. GW beat Georgetown at home 7-6 but then lost the next day at Old Dominion in an equally close 6-5 battle. George Washington has never played Texas-San Antonio in a series that should feature two powerful offensive teams.

Storylines
Beginners Luck:
Sophomore Bill Simpson made a splash in his first collegiate start when he hit two home runs against Georgetown to key a Colonials comeback on February, 24th. Simpson went 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBI. He transferred during his freshman year from South Carolina and is the Colonials first-ever High School All-American. Simpson also pitched two scoreless innings against No. 16 Florida Atlantic and was the only GW pitcher to pitch for more than an inning without giving up a run.
Pitcher Perfect:
Sophomore Dan Pfau leads the list after having had a perfect 6-0 record as a freshman. This year, Pfau has pitched twice once as a starter and once in relief. He has no decisions this senior and his perfect record was kept intact as the result of a great comeback in his start against Georgetown on February 24th. Pfau leads the all-time list for highest winning percentage. Also on the list is senior captain Dennis Gramolini who is tied for second on the list with a 5-1 record.
Home Sweet Home:
GW went 19-3 at Barcroft Park in 2003 for the team's best ever .864 winning percentage at home. Since their arrival at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA, the Colonials are an impressive 176-83 (.680) at home. GW has also won more than 20 games at home in four out of the last six seasons. In 2004, the Colonials have the benefit of playing 30 games at home including 19 games in the month of March alone.
In 2004 the Colonials are 1-0 at home after defeating Georgetown, 7-6, on February 24th in a comeback keyed by two Bill Simpson home runs in his first collegiate start.
