PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington's Pat Lehman has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week for baseball, the league office announced Monday. It marks Lehman's first A-10 Pitcher of the Week honor of the 2009 season. He shares this week's award with Rhode Island's Eric Smith. It is also the first all-conference honor for George Washington Baseball this season.

Lehman allowed one earned run over 17 innings pitched while fanning 24 in two starts for the Colonial in the past two weeks. The A-10 did not hand out all-conference awards last week, so the award this week encompassed the past two weeks of competition. The senior from Fair Lawn, NJ tossed a one-hit complete-game shutout with 13 strikeouts on Mar. 8 as George Washington shut out Fairleigh Dickinson, 9-0. He then returned to the mound last Sunday and surrendered one earned run over eight innings with 11 strikeouts, but received a no-decision in the Colonials' 11-7 loss to Central Connecticut.

He is 2-0 with a 0.93 earned run average in four starts this season and has struck out 36 batters in 29 innings on the season.

The Colonials will return to action tomorrow against Randolph-Macon (3/17) and will begin A-10 competition this weekend (3/20-3/23) at Barcroft Park when they host the Rhode Island Rams.
