GW Baseball Announces 2013 Promotional Schedule
April 2, 2013
WASHINGTON - The George Washington baseball team has announced its full promotional schedule for the remaining home games at Barcroft Park this season.
The GW Department of Athletics & Recreation will be providing a free shuttle service for students and fans to and from Barcroft Park on April 6 & 7 vs. Richmond, April 27th against James Madison and May 10 and 11 vs. VCU.

The Colonials will re-institute the once annual Jackie Robinson Game for the Wednesday, April 17 game against Towson. At the game, a GW baseball player will be selected as the recipient of the Jackie Robinson Award, which is bestowed by the George Washington Jackie Robinson Society for exhibiting qualities that reflect the attributes of the legendary sports hero.
On April 27, the program will host the inaugural Warren Fulton III Memorial Game. Fulton's life was tragically cut short in 1988 in the middle of his senior season. Since 1989 the GW Baseball program has annually presented the Warren H. Fulton Memorial Award to the player who best exemplifies the spirit, teamwork and sportsmanship demonstrated by the late Fulton.
The games on April 27 against James Madison will also be the first annual GW Baseball "Buff Out" games. Fans are encouraged to pack Barcroft Park and wear Buff gear as the Colonials host the Dukes for the first time at the fully renovated facility. Free shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and a special fan bus will be running throughout the afternoon between the Foggy Bottom campus and Barcroft Park.
On May 12 against VCU, the Colonials will celebrate Mother's Day by encouraging fans to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness. Free tickets will be available to all mothers with the purchase of a youth ticket. Mothers and breast cancer survivors in attendance will be recognized and honored by the GW Baseball program.
On May 18, the Colonials will celebrate Senior Day prior to their game against La Salle. Seniors Kenny O'Brien, Matthew Murakami, Robbie Haben, Derek Brown, Ryan Hickey, Brian Derner, Justin Albright, J.T. Wauford and Tyler McCarthy, along with student assistant coaches Kyle Gelling and Jeff Griffith, will all be honored for their commitment to the GW Baseball program.
Also on May 18, the Colonials will don special Operation Hat Trick camouflage hats to show their appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of our armed forces. Free tickets will be available for all veteran and active duty military personnel.
