GW Baseball Storms Back to Sweep Richmond on Sunday
WASHINGTON - The George Washington baseball team erased a 4-2 deficit with six runs in the final two innings to down Richmond, 8-4, and clinched the series sweep in a wild Senior Day victory on Sunday afternoon at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park.

THIS WEEK'S ACTION: The Colonials are 1-1 so far this week after a 10-4 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday afternoon and an 11-1 loss at Virginia on Wednesday evening.

RELIABLE RENNER: GW's Friday starter Brady Renner has returned to form after being sidelined for a large portion of the 2016 season. He leads the Colonials with three victories and a 2.13 ERA across seven starts this season. Additionally, his ERA ranks second in the Atlantic 10 amongst pitchers with at least seven starts.

Renner has not allowed more than two earned runs in any game this season and is coming off a standout performance against VCU last Saturday, when he allowed just two runs (one earned) across eight dominant innings, scattering six hits with one walk and one strikeout.

CAUGHT THE COACH: With his stolen base on Tuesday against MDES, senior Joey Bartosic tied head coach Gregg Ritchie for second all-time at GW with 71 career stolen bases.

For his career, Bartosic has been successful in 82-percent (71-of-87) of his stolen-base attempts, including 11-of-12 this season.

SERIES HISTORY: Richmond leads the all-time series, 66-44, but the Colonials have gotten the better of the Spiders in recent memory. GW swept Richmond in last season's series at The Tuck and eliminated the Spiders from the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship, also played on GW's home field.

SCOUTING RICHMOND: The Spiders are 11-16 overall and 2-1 in the Atlantic 10, winning the opening conference series over Dayton in the last weekend in March. Richmond had a conference bye last weekend and instead won two-of-three games from UNC Asheville.
