April 8, 2003
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Colonials baseball team must wait at least one more day before resuming play after a week of rain outs. Today's game against George Mason has been rescheduled for 3:00 pm on Thursday due to bad field conditions at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA.
The Colonials have now had their last four games rained out as well as missing eight games in the last two weeks. GW has still only played three Atlantic 10 games despite being three weeks into the conference schedule. The Colonials are currently 19-7 overall and 1-2 in the A-10. GW is now ranked sixth in the Northeastern region by College Baseball Insider.
GW will play again against Georgetown on Wednesday at 3:00 pm. Sophomore Dan Sullivan (1-1) will take the mound for GW who beat Georgetown 13-8 in their previous meeting this year, on March 18th. The Colonials have an 83-23-1 record against the Hoyas all-time. On Thursday, sophomore Nate CasaGrande (3-1) will pitch against George Mason in the rescheduled contest. George Mason leads the all-time series against the Colonials 44-31. Both games will be played at Barcroft Park where GW is 7-1 while outscoring opponents 78-38.
