Baseball's Tim Reeves Named A-10 Co-Player of the Week
April 28, 2008
WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington junior 1B/DH Tim Reeves (Cumming, GA/North Forsyth) was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Baseball Co-Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Reeves shared the honor with Fordham's Rich Goulian. Reeves led GW to three wins in five games with a .500 batting average (11-for-22) and 13 runs batted-in this past week as he recorded at least two hits in four of the contests, and at least one RBI in all five games. In 24 plate appearances, he did not strike out once. The junior was 3-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles in GW's 11-3 win at UMBC (Apr. 22) to help the Colonials snap a season-long five-game losing streak. The next day, Reeves recorded a pair of hits and drove in two runs at home against James Madison (Apr. 23). Over the weekend, in a three-game A-10 series at Saint Louis, Reeves was 6-for-13 with a double and eight RBI as GW earned a pair of wins in Saturday's doubleheader (Apr. 26). Reeves went 4-for-6 with six RBI in game two, helping to pace a GW offense that tallied 28 hits as they rolled past the Billikens, 21-5. Reeves currently leads GW in batting average (.368) and RBI (43), both of which are also good for eighth-place in the conference. Rich Goulian had two four-hit performances and collected 13 hits in 24 at-bats. George Washington has a pair of game with MD-Eastern Shore this week, playing at UMES on Tuesday, Apr. 29, at 3:00 p.m. The Colonials host the Hawks on Wednesday, also at 3:00 p.m., at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA.
