Josh Goldberg Earns Conference Rookie of the Week

May. 2, 2005

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington University baseball player Josh Goldberg (Albany, NY / Albany Academy) has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week the conference announced.

The freshman hit .600 (9-for-15) in the Colonials' five games last week. He posted four multi-hit games, knocked two doubles, scored four runs, collected two RBIs and stole two bases.

In GW's three-game weekend sweep of Dayton, Goldberg went 5-for-9 in helping the Colonials secure first place in the A-10's West Division.

Goldberg shares the honor with Fordham RHP Cory Riordan.

The Colonials took all five games played during the week and have won nine out of their last 10.

The Colonials match-up with District-rival Georgetown for a home-and-home series beginning Tuesday at Barcroft Park. Game time is 3:00 pm.
