Baseball's Rockey Wins Second A-10 Co-Player of the Week Award
May 4, 2009
PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington's Sean Rockey has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week for baseball, the league office announced Monday. It marks Rockey's second A-10 Co-Player of the Week honor of the 2009 season. It is also the fifth all-conference honor for George Washington Baseball this season as RHP Pat Lehman was Pitcher of the Week twice, redshirt junior Sean Rockey was previously Co-Player of the Week and RHP Ryan Lapointe was Pitcher of the Week. Rockey batted .647 (11-for-17) with seven RBIs and five runs scored over five games last week. He had four multi-hit performances including a 3-for-4 effort with a pair of home runs on May 2 in George Washington's 7-5 win over Saint Louis. He earned A-10 Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. The Colonials will return to action this weekend when they host Xavier (5/8-5/10) in a three-game A-10 Conference series at Barcroft Park. Friday's game is set to begin at 4:00 p.m., while Saturday's game starts at 1:00 p.m and Sunday's first pitch is set for noon.
