Baseball's Raimo Named A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - George Washington freshman pitcher Elliott Raimo was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday after throwing his second straight complete game in a win Sunday over George Mason.

It marks the second consecutive week that Raimo has been honored by the A-10 after he earned Pitcher of the Week honors last weekend, and the second time this season he has garnered Rookie of the Week.

Raimo used 112 pitches to work his way through nine innings of one-run ball in Saturday's 4-1 win over George Mason in the first game of a doubleheader which clinched the series for the Colonials.

He scattered six hits with one walk and four strikeouts. Raimo closed the game strong, allowing just one base hit over his final four innings of work.

In his last two starts he has allowed just one earned run and eight hits across 18.0 innings with two complete games and 13 strikeouts. For the season he sports a 6-3 record a 3.44 ERA and a team-best 55 strikeouts across 73.1 innings.
