Baseball Qualifies for Atlantic 10 Tournament

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University baseball team has qualified for the 2002 Verizon Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament to be held at the Dodd Memorial Stadium in Norwich, CT beginning Thursday, May 16.

The third-seeded Colonials (37-19 overall, 17-7 Atlantic 10) will face the number six-seed, University of Dayton on Thursday, May 16, in a 4:00 p.m. game in the six-team, double-elimination tournament. Fourth-seeded Temple faces the number five-seed Xavier in the other first-round game.

The opening rounds of the Atlantic 10 Tournament will be held at the Dodd Memorial Stadium, home of the Norwich Navigators, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate. The two winners of the double-elimination tournament will face each other at the higher seed's home field in a best of three-game series from May 23-25, 2002 to decide the championship.
