WASHINGTON -The George Washington baseball program is sending 23 student-athletes to various locales around the country to compete in collegiate summer leagues in an effort to further improve their skills during the summer months following the 2014 season.
GW baseball will be represented in a total of 13 leagues around the nation, including the prestigious Northwoods League and the local Cal Ripken League.
Multiple players will have the opportunity to suit up for the same team this summer.
Four players will compete in the Beach Collegiate League in and around Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Outfielder Andrew Selby and third basemen Bobby Campbell will suit up for the Litchfield Manowars while first basemen Cody Bryant and infielder Andy Youngwill play for the Palmetto Generals.
Elsewhere, outfielder Colin Gibbons-Fly and shortstop Kevin Mahala will play for the Martinsville (Va.) Mustangs in the Coastal Plains League. Also, second basemen Eli Kashi and pitcher Eddie Muhlwill be teammates on the Santa Paula Halos in the California Collegiate League.
Pitchers Max Kaplow (DC Grays) and Luke Olson(Rockville Express), along with incoming freshman Brandon Chapman (DC Grays) will compete in the local Cal Ripken League.
