Baseball Trio Named to ABCA All-East Region First Team
Pasteur, Osis and D'Alessandro earn spots after standout 2018 seasons
WASHINGTON - Isaiah Pasteur, Mark Osis and Dominic D'Alessandro of the GW baseball team were all awarded for standout 2018 seasons on Wednesday as they were named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-East Region First Team.
The trio's selection to the team marks the fourth consecutive year that GW has had players represented and the third year in a row that multiple players have been honored. ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors, which will be announced on Saturday, June 16.
A product of Westminster, Md., Pasteur made history throughout the season with his program-record 32-game hit streak and conference-record three consecutive Player of the Week awards. He led the A-10 in runs (57), triples (7), total bases (139) and slugging percentage (.589), while ranking in the top three in hits (78), home runs (11), stolen bases (31), RBIs (49) and at bats (236). Pasteur's production wasn't limited to offense as he also held a 2-1 record with a 3.45 ERA in 12 appearances on the mound.
Osis also had a standout senior season in which he led the team and ranked second in the A-10 with 55 RBIs. He ranked sixth in the conference in total bases (111), seventh in doubles (16), 10th in slugging percentage (.496) and 12th in batting average (.317).
As GW's designated hitter, D'Alessandro made an immediate impact on the Colonials' lineup as he led the squad with 15 multi-RBI games while ranking second in batting average (.318), slugging percentage (.544), on-base percentage (.394) and home runs (9).
