GW Baseball's Sheinkop Inks Deal with Cape Cod League
Senior Pitcher Becomes Unprecedented Fifth Colonial to Appear in Premier Summer League
WASHINGTON - George Washington baseball senior Jordan Sheinkop signed a contract with the Brewster Whitecaps on Saturday to become the fifth Colonial to appear in the famed Cape Cod Baseball League this summer.
Sheinkop concluded a standout summer season in the Hamptons Collegiate League playing for the Sag Harbor Whalers, prior to signing in the Cape. In eight games, including seven starts for the Whalers, the Buffalo Grove, Illinois, native posted a 3.17 ERA across 34.0 innings. He pitched to a 2-4 record with 27 strikeouts against just 12 walks.
Sheinkop is the fifth GW baseball player to appear in the Cape Cod League this summer, an unprecedented single-season number for the Colonials. Eddie Muhl (Cotuit Kettleers) and Robbie Metz (Wareham Gateman) were each named Cape Cod League All-Stars earlier this summer while Joey Bartosic (Wareham Gateman) and Brandon Chapman (Brewter Whitecaps) have also appeared in games.

Metz was also a West Division All-Star (0-0, HBP, 1 R) and along with teammate Bartosic, has helped the Wareham Gateman to a berth in the Cape Cod League Playoffs.
