Baseball's Osis & XC/Track's DiBiasio to Lead SAAC in 2017-18
Osis will serve as President while DiBiasio will be Vice President
Last spring, George Washington baseball senior Mark Osis was elected to serve as the 2017-18 President of GW's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC). He will work closely with Vice President Miranda DiBiasio of women's cross country/track throughout the academic year.
GW's SAAC works in conjunction with the Atlantic 10 SAAC to improve the student-athlete experience. This is achieved by facilitating communication between student-athletes and administration at both an institutional and conference level. This interaction is paramount in shaping intercollegiate athletic policies across Division I with an end goal of enhancing the student-athlete experience.
Osis will lead a 13-member Executive Board throughout the academic year in various initiatives including the organization and execution of community-service initiatives, building a sense of community among student-athletes and hosting various events and activities.
The West Chester, Pennsylvania, native enters his senior season as a career .313 hitter and has totaled 20 doubles, 54 RBI and 34 stolen bases across 123 career games.
He is coming off a solid season in which he hit .282 across 57 games with 25 RBI. He was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team after going 5-for-13 with five RBI across three games in late May at the 2017 A-10 Championship.
DiBiasio also shined last season as the Atlantic 10's 10,000 meter outdoor champion. An All-Academic Team member in both indoor and outdoor track, DiBiasio was also selected to attend the NCAA's Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis in June, 2017.
SAAC is comprised of at least one representative from each of GW's 27 varsity teams, who then select an executive board.
