WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University baseball program has announced the dates for both the 11th Annual "Home Run" Golf Classic and the 2007 Alumni Baseball Game.

The golf tournament is scheduled for Friday, October 12, at the Virginia National Golf Club, in Bluemont, VA, on the banks of the Shenandoah River. The Alumni Game will be played the following day, Saturday, October 13, at Barcroft Park Field No. 6, in Arlington, VA.

Last year's golf tournament raised nearly $25,000 for the baseball program, and over the past decade, it has brought in over $250,000. It has been money used to help the team increase their travel budget, upgrade recruiting efforts and purchase new equipment.

This year marks a special occasion, as the tournament will welcome special guest , Sam Perlozzo '73, a GW Athletic Hall of Fame member and former Major League Baseball manager.

The Alumni Baseball Game, set for a 12:30 p.m. first pitch, will see former GW greats battle the current 2007 Colonials.

For more information, including sponsorship opportunities for the 11th Annual "Home Run" Golf Classic, please see the letters documents at the top of this page.

George Washington was 23-31-1 overall in 2007 and 14-13 in the A-10, finishing just one spot out of the conference tournament, despite ending the year with a season-best six-game winning streak. It was their 14th straight season with at least 20 wins.
