WASHINGTON, DC - After losing the first two games of the annual Buff and Blue Fall Ball World Series, the Buff team came back and won the last three games to capture the series. Junior Justin Dignelli picked up the victory going two innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three. Senior Jimmy Duggan closed the game out in the seventh by inducing a line drive double play off the bat of Will Cooper.

The Buff team got on the board first, scoring two runs off losing pitcher Bobby Lucas in the top half of the second. Gavin Swanson singled to lead off the frame and advanced to second on Andrew Haberern's walk. He scored on a sharp single to right off the bat of Freshman Ryan Thomas and Haberern scored two batters later on a perfectly executed safety squeeze by Junior Jon Chirumbolo.

The Buff squad tacked four runs in the top half of the third. Bryan Hwang finished 2-2, leading off with a single and scoring on Thomas' two RBI single and later singling home Thomas.

Junior Ryan Lapointe and Sophomore Eric Cantrell kept the Blue team in the game by pitching a combined four innings and giving up 4 hits while striking out eight.

After scoring a run in the bottom of the third the Blue could only answer with a lone run in the fifth. Senior Chris Neary got himself out of trouble in the fifth before getting Freshman Stephen Oswald to ground out to First Baseman Tim Reeves. In the sixth Neary walked the bases loaded with two outs before striking out Sophomore Brendon Kelliher.
