DJ Williams Joins Men's Basketball

Illinois transfer and former top-100 recruit to be eligible in 2018-19

Will sit out the 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer rules and have two years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2018-19 season.

AS A SOPHOMORE AT ILLINOIS: Appeared in 17 games, averaging 2.3 points ... had six points and four rebounds in season-high 18 minutes in opener vs. Southeast Missouri (Nov. 11) ... tallied a career-high nine points vs. McKendree (Nov. 15) ... scored six points vs. Detroit Mercy (Nov. 18) ... tied career high with five rebounds vs. Central Michigan (Dec. 10).

AS A FRESHMAN AT ILLINOIS: Played in 29 of 34 games, averaging 2.1 points ... logged double-digit minutes in 11 of the last 12 games, shooting 50 percent from the field over that stretch (18-36) ... earned start in first career game vs. North Florida (Nov. 13), scoring four points ... had four rebounds vs. North Dakota State (Nov. 15) ... scored five points in 18 minutes at No. 5 Michigan State (Jan. 7) ... had six points at Rutgers (Feb. 3) ... tallied a season-high eight points with four rebounds vs. No. 5 Iowa (Feb. 7) ... played 20 minutes at Northwestern (Feb. 13), finishing with six points behind first two career 3-pointers ... tied season high with eight points and grabbed career-high five rebounds in 23 minutes vs. Rutgers (Feb. 16).
