"Brian brings a wealth of experience to our program as a guy who's been a head coach at the highest level," Hobbs said. "He's had great success, particularly in the areas of recruiting, developing players and game preparation. He is a welcome addition to our staff."

"I'm ecstatic about the opportunity to work with Coach Hobbs and his staff," Ellerbe said. "GW is one of our country's best institutions of higher learning and, by being located in the heart of Washington, DC, offers a wealth of educational and career opportunities unmatched on a national level. During Coach Hobbs' tenure, the Colonials basketball program has grown exponentially and seen unprecedented success on and off the court. It's been a fun and exciting experience getting involved with my hometown all over again."

Ellerbe and his wife, Kimberly, reside in the Washington area with their infant daughter, Amelie.
