Tyrone Lockhart is in his third year as a member of the GW men's basketball staff after being named Director of Basketball Operations prior to the 2006-07 season. Lockhart came to GW after spending the previous 13 years working for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) in Colorado Springs, and as an assistant for Basketball Operations for the NBA's Denver Nuggets. Most recently, Lockhart served as the Director of Games Operations for the 2006 North American Indigenous Games, a 16-sport competition consisting of 7,000 athletes and coaches from the lower 48 states and 16 provinces and territory from Canada.
Prior to that, Lockhart served as Manager, Sports Partnerships in the Sports Performance Division of the USOC and was responsible for working with National Governing Bodies (NGB). He joined the USOC in September, 1993, and has held various positions within the organization. Prior to joining the USOC, Lockhart was employed in the tax and audit division of Arthur Andersen & Co, in Washington, D.C., where his duties included reviewing and preparing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns in the public and private sectors in the real estate and financial services industries. Lockhart was an assistant basketball coach at Texas A&M University at Kingsville for three seasons and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Texas A&M at Kingsville. He is a 1987 graduate of Georgetown University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in accounting and played on the Hoyas' 1984 NCAA Championship Team and the 1985 NCAA Championship finalist basketball team. Lockhart resides in Washington, DC.
