WASHINGTON (AP) - Guards T.J. Thompson and Chris Monroe combined for 36 points to lead George Washington to a 68-58 victory over Duquesne Saturday.

Monroe, who shared Atlantic 10 Conference player of the week honors with Xavier's David West, led George Washington (8-10, 2-5) with 19 points.

Thompson had 17 points, nine assists and five rebounds as the Colonials won two in a row for the first time this season. He shot 6-for-8 from the field, including 3-for-3 on 3-pointers.

Jimmy Tricco's 12 points, all on 3-pointers, led Duquesne (7-14, 1-7) which lost its sixth straight and fell to 0-5 on the road against conference opponents. Kevin Forney added 11 points for the Dukes.

Mike Hall had 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Colonials, who got 10 points, four rebounds, two blocks and two steals in 26 minutes from reserve Omar Williams.

George Washington opened the second half with a 12-3 run for a 45-34 lead.

Duquesne pulled to 52-49 on Tricco's third 3-pointer at the 4-minute mark. Thompson answered with a 3-pointer then assisted Williams and Hall on back-to-back dunks to give the Colonials a 59-51 lead with 1:55 left.
