Men's Basketball Falls To La Salle, 83-70

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Rasheed Quadri scored 19 points and four other La Salle players were in double figures as the Explorers beat George Washington 83-70 on Saturday.

Reggie Okosa scored 16 points and Julian Blanks had 13 points to help La Salle (9-12, 2-6 Atlantic 10), which snapped a four-game losing streak.

Chris Monroe scored 22 points to lead George Washington (10-11, 3-7).

La Salle's lead in the second half reached 18 points before the Colonials cut it to nine, 69-60, on a drive by Monroe with 2:55 left.

Okosa responded with two free throws and a rebound of a miss, sandwiched around a dunk by George Washington's Jaason Smith, to bring the lead back to 11 points. Quadri sank two free throws, then stole a pass at midcourt and went in for a layup with 1:20 left to extend the margin.

Leading scorer Rasual Butler was held to 11 points but added 11 rebounds, and Jeff Farmer added 10 for La Salle. Marquin Chandler and Greg Collucci added 12 points apiece for George Washington, and Smith grabbed 13 rebounds.

La Salle scored the game's first seven points and was up 36-20 at the half.
