Colonials Knock Off Fordham, 70- 68

NEW YORK (AP) - Freshman guard T.J. Thompson's only field goal of the game came with .4 seconds remaining and gave George Washington a 70-68 victory over Fordham on Saturday, the Rams' ninth straight loss.

Chris Monroe had 24 points for the Colonials (12-15, 5-11 Atlantic 10), who won their second straight after a 10-game losing streak. Marquin Chandler added 11 points for George Washington, while Tamal Forchion and Greg Collucci each had 10.

The winning points were Thompson's only two of the game as he missed his other two shots.

Mark Jarrell-Wright had 18 points for Fordham (8-19, 4-12), while William "Smush" Parker had 15 and Teremun Johnson and Duke Freeman-McKamey each had 13. Freeman-McKamey grabbed 15 rebounds.

Fordham had tied the game 68-68 with 5.8 seconds left when Parker made the second of two free throws.
